21 Nov Olmeda Orígenes at ¨Spanish Experience¨in Mauritius
The 5 stars LUX Belle Mare hotel in Mauritius invited us to the week festival ¨Spanish Experience¨. The idea was to teach the chefs from the hotel and offer a different gastronomic experience to the guests with typical Spanish dishes, tapas, pintxos and desserts.
With our partner in Mauritius Gourmet Emporium and the celebrity Spanish Chef José Valdespino from Val del Pepe restaurant in Jerez and Olmeda Orígenes ambassador and awarded with 2 “Soles” (Sun) by the Repsol Guide back in 2011 we have prepared and offered a delicious Spanish dinner for the guests.
The dinner was composed by:
- Entrance: Spanish tomato gazpacho, potato salad with sherry vinegar and white tuna, tuna with tartar sauce, octopus leg braised with potato cream and paprika and frisée, Iberian ham, black olives and paprika salad;
- Main dish: paella with prawns, fish and vegetables
- Dessert: selection of Spanish cheese and honey.
Our products where present in all dishes like Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sherry Vinegar from Jerez, Saffron, Red Mojo sauce from Canary Island, Cooked Octopus ¨Pulpo¨. For us was an honour to participate in this event, cook with our ambassador and diffuse our gastronomic traditions.
We also have made a workshop with the most important chefs from Mauritius hotels to spread the Spanish cuisine and inspire them with new ideas and Spanish gourmet products
